A Print That Is Almost As Good As The Original Or Picture On Canvas 101

Published by nikimedia under Uncategorized

Fine art reproduction is itself a work of art. If you visit an art gallery you will definitely find a section of reproduced fine art. And interestingly, it would come under a rather strange name: Giclee.Let’s find out now what actually is a Giclee print. Giclee print is obtained or produced through a fine art digital inkjet printer used for reproduction of artwork originally created in mediums like drawings and paintings etc. Giclee printing made the four offset colour lithography for the fineart reproduction obsolete by the late twentieth century. And there is no looking back. What Giclee printing has achieved is something phenomenal as it has extended the reach of high art into homes by making them less expensive. Those who cannot afford an original are now in a position to purchase a high quality art reproduction at least. With advancement in technology ink jet printing for various media became an ideal method of fine art reproduction. You can take Giclee prints of pictures on canvas and variety of other papers such as water color paper,photo-base paper and transparent vinyl acetates. A giclee print of a picture on canvas can be displayed by wrapping it around the stretcher. For ages art lovers have appreciated pictures on canvas. Canvas is a closely knit and heavy fabric on which pictures look almost real and warm. Owing to its reputation as an authentic base its used by many renowned painters of all times as a medium for oil painting. Giclee printing has helped commoners get a taste of these great artworks by its excellent technique of fine art reproduction.Six or more colors including different shades of the same color is used in Giclee print these days. A six -colour CcMmYK model has the ability to improve the quality of the print by increasing the middle color tones. The resolution and the richness of the print is enhanced by it. And it can even capture the colour distinctions very well.If you are a lover of art and dream of buying a masterpiece but do not have enough money to buy one, you can go for a Giclee print. It will be affordable for you and you can own a reproduction which many of your friends might mistake for the real one.

Where can I get my large photos printed to canvas for a good price?

Published by nikimedia under Uncategorized

I have three photos already enlarged in .pdf format that I need printed to canvas (sizes 42″x42″ and 26″x38″). I just want them to be printed and shipped rolled – I do not need stretcher bars or to have them mounted. After scouring the net, the best I’ve found was $120 for the 40×40 and $80 for the two 26×38’s.

This is ridiculous for just printing to canvas, especially for no mounting! Does anyone know anywhere else I can go, or can you offer a better quote?

What is a good website to have nice quality large, like 16x 20 and larger photos printed?

Published by nikimedia under Uncategorized

I found pictureframes.com but I want to shop around. I am finding it difficult to see what my photo printed on canvas like a painting would look like. Their website just shows the picture how it is and not how it would look. Anyone have any suggestions for websites for nice large prints and prints that look like artwork?

Good photo paper for traditional artwork prints?

Published by nikimedia under Uncategorized

I’m an artist and I do oil paintings and mixed media artwork (pencil, ink, watercolor, acrylic etc.). I’ve been offering some of my work as limited edition fine art giclee prints but I want to also start offering some more reasonably open edition priced photo prints as well. What what be a good photo paper to do this with? I’ve been looking into HP Premium Plus Photo Paper, has anyone used this paper for printing traditional artwork rather than photography?
by the way the Premium Plus Photo Paper comes in Matte, thats what I was thinking of using. Not the gloss

Are ‘giclee’ style art prints any good?

Published by nikimedia under Uncategorized

I’d like to buy a fine art photo for my dad for Christmas. A photographer I like a lot has giclees, as well as traditional prints, for sale. Are these any good? Will anyone ever be able to tell the difference? The photographer is local to my region and very, very well respected. There’s also about a $100 difference in price! So, thoughts??
