Photo Canvas Album

I have taken a few photos that I would like to have printed on canvas.. not just blown up and printed on large picture paper. I was wanting to know if anyone knew of a good legit web site they have used or heard of that send photo prints and also prints them on canvas for mounting. Thanks!

I would like to take a regular picture and reduce it and add a background around the sides of the picture. Is there a program that makes this easy? I tried paint.net but you have to size the canvas and then image and it gets extremely difficult to be able to get the printing size right.

i want to do it myself because that’s more memorable and the fun way. i know the grid system to enlarge photo onto canvas, but any help with the rest would be much appreciated!
i know how to turn the photo into pop art in photoshop, i want tips on how to paint it, if that’s possible thanks

I have an image that is 10 by 6.6 inches at 72 dpi (1016K). I change the canvas size to 4×6 and scale the image some (one of my methods of cropping. I then upload it to the website to order prints and it tells me it’s not high enough quality. However, if I upload the original, it can be printed at 4×6. When I scale it using the free transform tool, does it reduce the pixels? How can I crop it to 4×6 without messing up the quality? I don’t want to use the crop tool because I like to make the canvas size smaller then move the image around to find the best composition.

this question is extremely amateur, but here goes:
how in the world do photographers get their photos printed onto that black foam core-looking material?? I understand that you can “mount” photos, but doesn’t that mean the photo is just sort of tacked onto the foam board? In which case, that’s not what I want…. I would like the photo to appear as though it had been printed on to the board. Do you have to find a specialist who can print directly onto the board, then? If so, what is this process called/ how would I find someone who can do this?

Essentially, I do not want to frame my photos, I want them to be printed onto a board (sort of like the canvas gallery wrap, but without the canvas material) and ready to mount.

Ok I do a lot of my own photography myself and this is really getting on my nerves. My wife had her passport photos taken and they totally suck (I mean I’m a semi-professional but these looked bad and we payed for them) so she begged me to take her photos myself. I was first rather afraid to do it for fear that I might not be able to fulfill all the guidelines, but I downloaded the guidelines and they’re pretty straight forward. So I sized the photos to be exactly 2×2 inches in photoshop so the measurements are correct and pasted 2 of them unto a 4×6 canvas in photoshop and did a test print on my laser printer and they came out exactly the right size. Then I went and printed them at one of those Kodak photoprinter things (just because it was too late to get them printed at the 1 hr service) and the photos are actually slightly larger (2 1/8 x 2 1/8) which brings the head and eye height measurements out of the correct limits. This sucks.

I recently came upon this Kamil Vojnars’ work and I loved it. I want to learn how to get the same aging / tinting effect. I got the following Information for the web page:

It’s photographs, printed on thin Japanese paper, mounted to canvas or printed on heavy Epson, Ultra smooth Fine Art Paper, painted on lightly with oils and varnished with wax.

But I wanted to know if some one can give me some clearer steps. Also I’m going to be getting supplies at www.dickblick.com so if you can point out some of the things I will need that would be great.
