Ok I do a lot of my own photography myself and this is really getting on my nerves. My wife had her passport photos taken and they totally suck (I mean I’m a semi-professional but these looked bad and we payed for them) so she begged me to take her photos myself. I was first rather afraid to do it for fear that I might not be able to fulfill all the guidelines, but I downloaded the guidelines and they’re pretty straight forward. So I sized the photos to be exactly 2×2 inches in photoshop so the measurements are correct and pasted 2 of them unto a 4×6 canvas in photoshop and did a test print on my laser printer and they came out exactly the right size. Then I went and printed them at one of those Kodak photoprinter things (just because it was too late to get them printed at the 1 hr service) and the photos are actually slightly larger (2 1/8 x 2 1/8) which brings the head and eye height measurements out of the correct limits. This sucks.

I have three photos already enlarged in .pdf format that I need printed to canvas (sizes 42″x42″ and 26″x38″). I just want them to be printed and shipped rolled – I do not need stretcher bars or to have them mounted. After scouring the net, the best I’ve found was $120 for the 40×40 and $80 for the two 26×38’s.
This is ridiculous for just printing to canvas, especially for no mounting! Does anyone know anywhere else I can go, or can you offer a better quote?
Here’s a “How-We-Do-It” video about your photos printed on fine-art canvas. We used a piece Rich designed called “Keep Moving Forward” which is our motto for 2010 and the subject of our new promotion for canvas prints and t-shirts. Stay tuned for other videos on how we do stuff!
I have photos shot on raw format with a DSLR so they are good quality. I have a photo exhibit coming up and am confused as to what kind of material to get them printed on(I am looking at large size blow ups). What looks most professional? are canvas prints on an epson 7900 with gallery wraps better or is there a way to do big size prints on some thick photo paper like one would use for a 6 by 4 (and then frame those prints?) Please help. I want to know what professionals do?
I found pictureframes.com but I want to shop around. I am finding it difficult to see what my photo printed on canvas like a painting would look like. Their website just shows the picture how it is and not how it would look. Anyone have any suggestions for websites for nice large prints and prints that look like artwork?
I have a few pictures I want to be printed/painted on canvas. Will art shops do that? Or Kinkos? What is it called, any special names? Also, what is “Stretching”? I only want a black and white photo to be put on canvas. How much would it cost for something about 2′ X 3′ ?
